Is it just me... or do they seem to ride a bit left of center?

I've recalled quite a few articles from them in the past that criticized conservatives as being "Extremist". What the fuck gives them the right to call *ANYONE* Extremist? Aren't these the same people who indoctrinate people into thinking that if they take their 3 year old to the hospital because of an illness,... that they will be endangering their very souls? Don't these same people kick people out of church simply for seeking medical attention to REAL WORLD MEDICAL PROBLEMS? Oh thats right, in their little "church"... illnesses are all figments of our imagination!

These people *DO* have blood on their hands... childrens blood. And to think, with all those kids dead, because their parents were brainwashed into thinking that seeking medical attention was a sin, that they still somehow have the gonads to criticize ANYONE as being "Extremist".

When I see "Christian Science Monitor" I react the same way I would if I had come across a  "The Jim Jones Journal" or "Branch Davidian Times" or "Sybionese Liberation Army Gazette". Why does ANYONE take them seriously?

They are free to practice as they see fit contingent upon not infringing on the rights of others

Sure... and when kids start dying because their parents refuse to take their kids to the hospital for real problems... those parents should be arrested for neglect and manslaughter.

I also would have no problem with having Christian Science "Spiritual practitioners" arrested for practicing medicine without a license. To declare an illness as "gone" when it's still there... and then to discourage such a member from following up with a medical practitioner... should be considered criminal practice of medicine without a license.

The Christian Science Monitor is certainly not the worst source for news out there, probably better than many, if not most.
Don't confuse the publication with the religion.

This is actually a pretty decent article about this cult.

I simply refuse to offer any ounce of legitimacy to that church or it's affiliates.

The CS Monitor has always been a little different than your average mainstream news outfit in respect to the political spectrum. Left of center in some regards, but not in the MSM "hooray obama republcians are racist why did George Bush kill my grandma" sense. They may be more liberal on some high political concepts, but at least its not the typical obama cheering and fear mongering of CNN, MSNBC, etal

.... or it's affiliates. The Christian Science Monitor is at least an affiliate of the church, and likely much more than that. I wouldn't be surprised if the CSM did not publicize much about the controversy surrounding the church. If they did, I doubt it was .... critical of the church's practices.

The reason the CSM even exists, is to provide an alternative to it's members. Which at the time of the religion being founded, by that nut Eddy, was being heavilly criticized by media outlets... and with good reason.

So the reason the newspaper exists, is to insulate it's members from the realities that their church is a harmful cult.

A little left of center?  Talk about an understatement.
