The thought occurred to me while reading the laser thread, what would be the feasibility of carrying a 1.8 Watt Class 4 (Burning) laser as a less lethal in lieu of pepper spray?  Pepper spray can hurt, but there is also blowback, and some people can be immune, and may be wearing goggles, or be on drugs, whereas a laser would burn their eyes out instantly blinding them goggles or no goggles, high, or not, with no blowback, am I right in my thinking, or am I completely off base?  I know little to nothing about lasers.

Worst idea ever. The fact is less lethal should be able to be recovered from. Or you die.

Maiming someone permanently with a laser is a completely different animal. It's not legal in war, why would it be legal for self defense or LEO use?

An Asp is a less lethal weapon but intentionally striking someone in the groin, head, or spine is generally considered a lethal level of force.

Do you need a CCW to carry a 1.8W bankruptcy-inducing-lawsuit-generator?
