Yes.
A good clay bar bath works wonders , Even better on older vehicles.

I try to do it once a year at least.  I should do it every few months.  It makes the paint feel smooooooth....unless there are dents/dings/scratches that go through the clear that is.

Works great get the clay and some spay wax. It does take a lot of work but it will pull all the dirt and bad stuff out of your paint.

When you do it do not be cheap with the spray. Keep it real wet and it goes real easy. Hit a dry spot and you end up dropping the bar when it sticks. I recommend washing off the area around the car before hand to remove grit in case you drop the bar.

I just clay barred my 9 YO truck.  The results were just short of amazing.  Keep it wet.

Totally worth it if you plan on maintaining a nice paint finish. If you're one of those who wash their car 3-4 times a year and maybe choose the wax option at the gas station's car wash - not worth it.

Wash car, twice, clay, polish, seal, and wax every spring. It's usually an all-day detail affair for me but with a little elbow grease I don't have to wax the car again until at least Halloween and even then water still beads really nice. With your garden variety cleaner wax, your car will look good for a couple weeks and then be back to looking like shit. If you do a thorough detail once a year, your car will look tits until it rusts out or some broad yappin' on the phone hits it. I use whatever clay I can get on sale and follow up with 3M paint sealant (synthetic wax). The 3M stuff is a godsend. Easily the best over the counter stuff I've ever used when it comes to protecting the paint. Easy to work with but would probably be useless if you didn't claybar the car 1st.

Also, make sure the car is REALLY clean before you do it. You don't want anything gritty left on the paint that you could pick up in the clay and drag across your clear coat.
