What's your favorite?  Hoppe's No.9?  Shooter's Choice?  CLP?  Home brewed?  Kleenbore?

Personally I like Shooter's Choice for cleaning, and I use CLP for lubing.  Supposedly SC is good as a cleaner/lube but for the frame rails and such I prefer to dab on a bit of CLP because it's thicker.

I just use CLP on everything plus a little Tetra grease on Garands et al as required. So far so good.
FWIW
YMMV

Usually Shooter's Choice, but I use Sweet's for heavy jacket fouling. I've never had much luck with CLP.

I used to use CLP a lot. Still have some, but recently switched to EEZOX for lube on suggestions from fellow shooters. That stuff works great keeping rust at bay too. It eliminated rust on my carry gun. And the smell doesnt get my wife all uppity either. For cleaning I use whatevers on sale  brake cleaner and a old toothbrush. I still use Sweets for serious copper fouling tho.

Yeah, that's the problem with shooter's choice.  My ex-GF used to bitch about the smell.  As it is now my whole house smells for about 2 days after I clean.

This is the second time I have heard of this.  The first time was at a range up in WI.  Had someone tell me that when he was in the infantry they used simple green and scotch brite pads to clean the carbon fouling.    That was  a few years ago and when I began surfing here I never saw that combination recommended again.   Is this legit?
