Does anyone know what this may be worth ?

It is a 1922 Silver Dollar. The word " Trust " is spelled incorect with a " v " instead of a " U ".

You need to buy a coin book or look some up online. Misprints are often worth big bucks.

To the best of my knowledge, Morgan dollars were only minted until 1921. Never mind, that's a peace dollar, and it was supposed to be spelled that way, worth about $30.  Nice coin!

That is a secret Masonic silver dollar. I suggest you delete this thread then bury the coin in an unmarked, remote location before they come for you.
OK maybe not.  I have no clue, but it is interesting.

Correct, they did stop minting those in 1921.  And silver dollars had "In God We Trust" on the reverse of the coin.

That's a Peace Dollar

Worth anywhere from $10 to $25.

I recently picked up a 1945 silver half dollar. Looks almost uncirculated. What's that worth, at least five bucks?

Anywhere from $5 to about $30 on the very high end.  Might be worth more as straight bullion right now.  Market is down this week, but it's been as high as $15/oz recently.

That's just the secret "misinformation" we let out.

You must send me this coin, as well as the location of the S&W .357 for $289. I'm not kidding around this time. It is a crime against nature that you should run across these items when I am actively searching with cash in hand. Don't force me to take this up with the authorities.

IN GOD WE TRVST
We are always getting e-mails from people telling us that they have got a coin with a mis-spelt inscription. Much more than 99% of the time, they have got a coin with an absolutely normal inscription, it's just that they don't realise it.
One of the commonest "lettering error" we get asked about is from people who have found a letter V where they believe there should be a letter U.

It's Easy if You Speak Latin
The commonest language worldwide for coin inscriptions is Latin, and in Latin the letters U and V are the same, and are the 20th letter in the Roman alphabet. They are both a vowel and a consonant, so that the Romans would have spelt Venus as VENVS, the first V being pronounced vee as a consonant, and the second V being pronounced uh as a vowel.

Inscription         Translation                         Found Where
IN GOD WE TRVST In God We Trust     Quarters, Standing Liberty Type    1916 - 1930
IN GOD WE TRVST In God We Trust     Silver "Peace" Dollars                   1921 - 1935

What, they don't teach Latin in high school anymore?
