I need a quick answer.

What a good price to pay for a 2005 chief justive john marshall silver dollar?  And a Marine corps 230th ann. silver dollar?  I have a chance to get 4 john marshalls and 7 marine silver dollars.

I also have a chance to buy 5 2005 1 oz silver eagles proofs.

The main reason I am interested in silver is to beat inflation.  I have a feeling I am wasting my money buying coins that have any commerative value.  Am I right?

You pay a premium for collectible and/or uncirculated silver coins.  You also may command a premium when you sell it, but that is not a sure thing.

IF and only IF you are REALLY glad you had that silver coin, in order to buy food, that coin won't command any premium over a tarnished and circulated piece.

I don't have a bunch but I just get pre 64's kenndy half dollars ––bought 5 or 6 yrs ago.

doesn't seem like such a hot time to buy now though but what do I know

I rthter have the junk silver thats pre 64 and been circulated –– believe its a better buy.
