Dear Coke.
Kindly tell me what you have done with my beloved Coke Zero? I go to the store, and now there is some impostor shit called "Coca-Cola Zero Sugar" with something called "New & improved taste". Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Did we not learn from the fiasco in the 1980's about fucking with the formula? Please tell me this is a belated April fools joke. Haha, you funny. Ya got me. Now give me back my good 'ol Coke Zero. C'mon. Seriously. Not funny anymore. I really don't want my diet pop to taste like that regular shit that leaves sweaters on your teef. If I wanted that, I'd drink regular fucking coke! Damn. |
|
Stop Drinking that shit, it is bad for you. You should live off a diet of water, ancient grains, and pickled tofu like god intended.

Pay wall link but story has been known for quite a while. To me Coke Zero always tasted like regular Coke. OP just bite the bullet and admit Diet Coke is what you seek.

I like the taste of Coke Zero drank it when it first came out until a couple of years ago, but holy Jesus it was a tough habit to stop.

I had one last week and the new Zero is very close to regular Coke, it is a big improvement over the old zero and Diet Coke.
Glad to the the original zero go, it was terrible as a mixer. |

How many of you would drink Mexican Coke if it was readily available?
I would. If you didn't know, Mexi-Coke is made with sugar instead of HFCS or some artificial sweetener that glows in the dark. You can probably find some in your local large grocery store if you look in the ethnic aisle. I believe Costco might also have it. I pay ~$1 a bottle in the grocery store when I decide to treat myself. US Coke can't make that stuff here for <$6 a 6-pack? Edit: It seems that the good stuff is made in Mexico for export - see second paragraph. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_Coke -Warren- |

sure it will all be replaced but they will sell whats left or export it I guess. Wendy's has the new stuff already it is just ok. the publix near me still had some coke zero left.

I still haven't been able to find it by me. I'm not worried -- most reviews are positive or can't really tell a difference. The majority of people outraged about it havent even tried it yet.

I just got back from the store. Coke Zero is almost gone with Coke Zero Sugar replacing it. So if you want some better move fast. The Vanilla Coke Zero and Cherry Coke Zero were still there and no sign of a replacement for them yet.
I got home and decided to try the new Coke Zero Sugar, which was warm. I poured it into a glass with 3 ice cubes and by the time I finished pouring it was already flat. So it may not be the best test case but it did not taste better than Coke Zero. I only just started drinking the stuff due to a cold and sore throat. I don't plan on continuing to drink it. |

I always preferred Zero to Diet Coke. Zero didn't have that shitty aftertaste Diet Coke has. But Zero always seemed a bit flat to me. Tolerable. But still somewhat flat. I hope the new stuff retains the positive attributes of Coke Zero while improving on it a bit.

|
I've got some Coke Zero, Diet Coke, and the new stuff iced down in my YETI. Might have to do a blindfold taste test later.

What ingredients did Coke Zero have?
What ingredients will Coke Zero Sugar have? |
|
'Like Coke Zero, Coke Zero Sugar is sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame K. We only tweaked the blend of natural flavors, which are proprietary to Coca-Cola, so the ingredient list on the Nutrition Facts Panel on cans and bottles is the same.' View Quote |

Eh. I'll give it a shot. Seems like it's just a name/slight flavor change. Nothing really radical.
I'm certainly not drinking Sugarless New Coke (that's what Diet Coke is, it's the New Coke formulation with artificial sweeteners), that stuff is gross. |
|
If I do drink soda, Coke Zero is my choice.
The local grocery store has a generic version called "Cola Oh". I can't taste the difference and at $0.89/2-liters it's cheaper than water. |

Sounds like they are pulling a pepsi clear
Zero is a great soda, Cherry zero is gods nectar. Dont fuk with my cherry zero! The only other soda that didnt taste like diet soda is diet sunkist but its loaded with sodium, but so damn good. Diet soda is so bad for you but ive been a diabetic for 25 years and have had to lean on it for 25 years, just got my bi yearly labs done and yup, kidneys still working perfect an liver is perfect also, so is A1C, no cancer in site also, so whats so bad about it? |

I had a new Coke Zero Sugar yesterday. Tasted the same as a Coke Zero.
