Any recommendations for books and/or other learning resources?

Surprised you're asking about Cold Fusion. It's a pretty dead language. I mean, I'm sure it's like most other "older" languages there are tons of folks still using it and relying on legacy apps. However, is there a particular reason you need specifically Cold Fusion info?

A family member has to learn to use it for their job. So legacy app support.

I can't personally vouch for the particular book, but the O'Reilly series is usually some of the better technical books out there.  It looks like they have an animal book for Cold Fusion.

Legacy stuff is the only reason to touch that shit anymore.

Everybody dropped it like a burning dog shit cookie when they started charging several thousand dollars for the server environment for it.

PHP is free.

Perl is free.

ASP is free if you already run Windows.

JSP is free.

Python is free.

etc.

If you want to help the client, AND yourself, rebuild whatever they have from scratch using something else.  You'll learn something you can use again.  And they'll lose the legacy they are tied into right now.
