I fully support any attempt to boycott anything related to states that do not support the 2nd amendment. However for this to work you cannot just simply stop buying from these states, you must notify people in government of those states each time you make a buying decision. For example: You decide to take your annual Elk hunting trip to New Mexico instead of your usual destination of Colorado. You need to send a letter to the Colorado Dept of Wildlife, Colorado Dept of Tourism and the Governor explaining how many times you have hunted Colorado in the past and how much money you have spent on each trip. Then let them know how much money you are planning to spend at your new destination. Lastly let them know the reason you did this. Send this same letter to any one else that you think might want to know this. Maybe the local Chamber of Commerce for the area you were planning on visiting. Having been a member of the Chamber of Commerce with my business in the past they are very up on this stuff and they have a strong lobbying group. If the Chamber can keep business in their towns they will do what it takes. It also helps to send a letter to the state officials that you will be visiting to thank them for their stance and that you support them for not passing these laws. If you go skiing elsewhere let the Colorado Ski Association and the actual resort that you were planning on visiting know. If Vail Resorts can say they lost 500 direct bookings because of a specific issue it will be heard. They track everything they can. The ski industry has ears in the General Assembly. Do a search online, there are a ton of associations around the state that focus on our various recreational opportunities and industries. Without this no matter how many people boycott it will not mean anything nor will it drive home a point. Let's do this right and make sure we are heard. |
