| Why did colt stop putting the side mounted front sling swivel on the 6920s? |
| I hate matechs you can get em $50 new eventually the nub of metal that holds the post down wears to a point where the post no longer stays in the down posistion. If you use the buis alot there are better offerings..but they should just skip the fanfare with what they add and just offer a stock M4 type with type @ standard stock,M4 handguards, carry handle and side sling swivel..and while there at it a real socom barrel or standard M4 in 14.5 with permanent flash hider or comp pinned then they can use even more standard parts from the govts line. |

I think they are cutting a corner with the sight. The carry handle is a nice sight. The Magpul I am not a fan of at all. The only ones I've seen with the Matech are SOCOM models, I like that sight.
The one I recently saw at Walmart had the old school M4 stock instead of the Rogers stock though. Would love to get a 6921 SOCOM with the KAC rail, carry handle sight and a pinned A2X flash hider. |

This is what happens when you mass purchase colts from wal mart rather than a local dealer Bullshit. And you can still buy from your local dealer, just usually for a couple hundred dollars more. I don't know why they got rid of the side sling swivel but I suspect the carry handle got chopped because a majority of people mount some type of optic. They kept the BUIS so it's not like they're cutting corners there. |

I would argue that people who use carry handles are in the minority, whether its a guy using an ACOG or a guy using a NCStar. The way they are now, people mounting optics don't have to go buy a BUIS and people that shoot iron sights can still shoot iron sights. It's a win-win.
ETA: You can't please everyone. I think Matech sights suck. |

The side mount is on the 6920 SOCOM, it has more meat under the handguard, & a milled section on each side to accommodate the 203 launcher. The lower is marked M4A1, the other 6920's are civilian use with the sling mount in the traditional position. This only happened with the 2013 model's, but you can buy the side mount for around $45 but, you would need to take the std mount off, by tapping out the rivet, if not you will not be able to slide panels off the left side of the RAS, as the side mount can't flip forward enough, as it hits the std lower sling mount. So I didn't buy a 6920 this year as the SOCOM's were $1399 & the std 6920's were no longer .mil spec, as the heaver barrel has been in the field for a couple of years, Colt just now started getting around to selling it on the civilian market. I love Colt, but they are a Huge pain in the ass, & have been for years, starting with the SP-1, & large pivot pin tardo's |

I had one on my 6920, but took it off. Later I got an LMT upper and tried to install it on that, would not fit as it was too loose. I really did not care for it on the 6920 as I installed a D.D. rail Did you turn around the backing plate, it has different radii for different diameters? |

I just bought an LE6920 from a local dealer (Denny Dennis) this morning and noticed it included a quick detach sling swivel in the bag with the manual, but theres on place on the gun to attach it. Nope, same as the one on the SOCOM version. |
