Think about getting one of these in blue and having it nickel plated since I live in Florida. What does the hive think ?

Buy something stainless, or something disposable...

Don't know enough about them to offer a good opinion.  But they sure do seem like nice revolvers to me

Good idea. Why not just get a nickle one and save the trip to the plater.

Went by a pawnshop that had one listed on Gunbroker. It was nickel plated from the factory.Very Desirable ! Price was unrealistic I think it had a tag on it for 1200, without box or instructional manual.Guy working the counter let me hold it but said to call back when the owner who listed it was present.I think I'll be able to get a blue one and then have it nickel plated or black chromed, my question is if I get my hands on a mint one should I leave it alone even though I plan on carrying it.

If you get a mint one, you should leave it alone, or face the wrath of the revolver forum.

The question is...

Why would you buy a mint gun and then destroy it's value?

Buy a beat up blued model that isn't worth anything and fix it up.

Make sure you check the timing before you buy.

They have issues with +P, if I remember correctly.

Aside from that, they are great little revolvers!

A colt can be returned to the factory in CT and restored. There is nothing like the Colt blue. Call them and ask them to send you a price list of services. There is also a lot of info on the following:

A classic. Why buy it and destroy it's value. Buy something in stainless and don't look back.

BTW...$1200 will get you 2 nice ones, a couple of holsters and a pile of ammo.

Do hard Chrome.  Much better than nickle.
