Question to the forum: I currently have a Linksys Wifi card in my laptop and also have a Linksys router at my home, but sometimes I have problems connecting to hotel Wifi's when I'm traveling.

Several hotels have suggested that I covert my laptop Wifi software from Linksys to Windows XP and that should cure my problems connecting with other routers.

Is this so? And if so, what do I need to do to convert to Windows Wifi?

Thanks!

I only use Windows WiFi controllers...  Usually ends up handling them much better.

Just go to Control Panel and try the Wireless Network Setup Wizard.  I've had to do it before to a computer that didn't have drivers for the OS (XP Media Center) and it connected just fine.

I use WiFi Hopper when on the go. WiFi Hopper is a WLAN utility that combines the features of a Network Discovery and Site Survey tool with a Connection Manager. You may want to check it out by downloading the free 15 day trial.
