I tried to do a system recovery on a Lenovo T530 laptop. The computer says there are no recovery files in the recovery partition. I have the OEM product ID. What do you recommend for a complete system recovery? Has anyone tried one of the eBay disks such as this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Microsoft-Windows-7-Professional-FULL-Install-Restore-Repair-Recover-32bit-64bit-/181583873537?pt=US_Operating_Systems_Software&hash=item2a473e0601 How about downloading an ISO file? Can I use another Windows 7 installation disk and use the OEM product ID? Thanks |

The recovery button doesn't find anything?
Hard drive failed or your just bored?
Download the iso for whatever your sticker says on the bottom. Using another win7 computer is easy to create a ISO or bootable drive for win7. Use the key you have. Go find drivers at lenovo. ISO |

Quoted: Ubuntu.com for easy computering Eta Any disk will work if it's the same version, I'm pretty sure you can download directly from windows website so long as you have a key for the install. ISO won't help if your hell bent on a repair job Not trying to repair, just a clean restore. I tried looking on the MS website, but I couldn't find the software download section. |

Lenovo wanted $45.00 IIRC for the recovery disk.. Quoted:

You MIGHT be able to install using an .iso from Digital River and the OEM COA. It might be a whole lot easier to contact Lenovo about ordering the correct restore media. Lenovo wanted $45.00 IIRC for the recovery disk.. A little high, I'll grant you, but it might save you some time and frustration. |

I say get your hands on someone's Windows 7 OEM CD that is the same version as what's on your laptop (i.e. if it's Windows Home, get Windows Home; if it's Windows Pro, get Windows Pro, etc) and install. Be sure to download all your drivers first (from Lenovo's website) so that you can get back on the interwebz. Also, make sure that, before you get on the internet, you reinstall your antivirus.
And use good antivirus. I recommend Norton 360. |

I think it was Acer. *EDIT* Linky |

Good luck with that. They didn't work on any of our Dell laptops I've tried. I had to buy the Dell-specific version to get the key to work.z Quoted:
