When I try to turn it on all I get is a beep every 5 seconds--does anyone know what the BIOS beeps mean (AMI BIOS).  Nothing on the screen; cant even get into the BIOS.  I have swapped the RAM, power supply, hard drive and CPU but no luck.  Any ideas?

I'm going with that or the motherboard. DRAM failure? Google turned up:

Different brands have different codes
they are mostly the same but it really depends on the brand
Like Compaq(compaq sucks, no debate please)
get someone to look up your brand (or at least the standard codes)
I don't recall one beep every five seconds offhand

The different BIOS (AMI or Award) had different codes.  Its an AMI BIOS and I couldnt find 1 short beep every five seconds on the list.

If you did all that.... then try a new motherboard.

Like stated above, my first stop would be to try the video card.  Check everything inside to make sure it's seated well.  You can also remove all the cards possible and put one back in at a time if you can't isolate it any other way.

If that doesn't work, think mother board or RAM.

Start with M/B and power supply.  Add memory one stick at a time.  Then drives, one at a time.  Then video card.  I had to do this for my second build.  Turns out it was the "new" video card.

Seeing how you replaced all that stuff , have you tried to just reset the BIOS? Either by using jumpers on the mother board, or taking out the battery for a few seconds, and then try booting it back up.

+1
Also make sure the pc is unpluged when you do it, and while the battery is out, push the power button. This will discharge the (little) remainming power in the capacitors, adn then replace teh battery and try it.

OK...just tried resetting the BIOS via the jumper and no go.  Also reseated the vid card in another slot and that didnt help either.
