T.V.'s have a jack for a computer to hook into it.  They appear to have all the features a computer monitor offers, and also the ability to be a T.V.

So, why are T.V. monitors cheaper than computer monitors for a given size?

Which ones are you talking about specifically?

isn't according to pixel size, refresh rates and resolution or whatever?

I don't have any particular models in mind.  It was just an observation that T.V.'s are cheaper than montiors, but can act as monitors.

Oh

I usually find it the opposite until you get above like 32".

A 22" computer monitor is roughly $200-250....a TV is usually like $300-350 of the same size.

pixel rate, refresh rate , contrast ratio.. Do your homework, you'll see computer moniters are much better normally

The computer monitor doesnt have the tuner, thus the cheaper cost.  Butttt, that also means no HD programming unless you buy one with component jacks and have an external tuner. The TV's only support certain resolutions, and probably have slower refresh rates.

A standard, NTSC TV only has 525 scan lines.

Monitors have much higher resolution.  You have to set your computer to a ridiculously low resolution to see it on a TV.

The differences between a monitor and a TV will pretty much be going away in a year or two.
