| My wife's two year old ASUS touchscreen laptop is giving me fits this past week. It's a Q502L she bought at Best Buy. Out of nowhere it appears the screen isn't refreshing properly, and ghost images are staying on the screen. Also, the sharpness is crap, colors are not correct and the screen looks washed out almost as if there was a loose cable from the motherboard to the screen. If I minimize a window, it will stay on the screen in a strange purple color and very opaque. I attempted to paste a screen shot but it doesn't show in a screen shot. I tried reinstalling the Intel graphics drivers to no avail, even did a clean install of Windows 10. I hooked the HDMI output to a TV and the output is normal. I took the fucker apart and ensured the ribbon cable is tight on both ends and nothing changed. I'm thinking this is the LCD taking a shit. Anyone have any suggestions besides try to find a replacement LCD? |

Here
Sounds like the screen is screwed. Link is where I get my replacement screens from. not for sure how that works with a touchscreen though as i have never tore into one. |

Concur on the LCD taking a shit. Asus laptops are typically pretty easy to do this on. Haven't worked on this particular model though. Just have to take things slowly and gently. As the LCD and digitizer are separate. |
