I sit here with my head turned 90 degrees from my body.  I put my arm on my keyboard and every thing shifted 90 degrees left.  How do I fix it???   IE

are you on a laptop?

anyway, right click desktop -> properties -> settings -> advanced

(it will depend on your video card)... otherwise, just flip your monitor on its side

and see if anything there says to rotate the screen.

Not to put you down blmff by any means but I just wanted to point out how I think it's just odd that some people manage to do some funky things to their computers that I've never done or heard of. For instance, I had a lady who deleted her registry on her workstation. She was just a doctors office receptionist.  Her explanation was "I was just clicking around and all of a sudden my computer wont boot anymore". Not to mention the ones who have weatherbug running and have no clue how it got there. At the same time you notice the Bonzi Buddy icon on their desktop. Anyways, I hope you get it fixed. Good luck.

You probably have a display that can be switched from landscape to portrait, find the software that controls that function and set it back to landscape.

I would agree with this. You may have hit a shortcut to switch the positioning of your desktop. You can find it in the instructions on the second reply in this thread by david_g17.

when all else fails system restore works when you have time to do it.

Hope that worked for you, if it did, you were fortunate.  Unfortunately, system restore often fails to restore the system to its previous state, chances are very good whatever stopped working, after a system restore it will continue to not work.  It's also a bane for antivirus software, it must be turned off if your system is infected by viruses in order for the antivirus software to completely clean it.  Its effectiveness is doubtful, it's a service that runs in the background that uses CPU cycles and disk space, and it needs to be turned off lest viruses come right back, for these reasons every WinXP I work on has its system restore shut down.

Same here for the exact reasons.
