I get this whenever I restart or start my computer.  It is a Toshiba lptop with Vista.

It also will shut itself off while playing videos sometimes.  Gifs are animated online, but any I save are not.  I don't even know if these problems are related or not.

Thanks.

Try reinstalling the MS C++ Runtime components.

For 64Bit Vista : http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=13523
For 32Bit Vista : http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328

Edit:
Roxio is known to cause issues though.. might be better off just getting rid of it and reinstalling your C++ Runtime.

Animated gifs are not animated if you open them in image viewer.

Try opening them in IE.

That error is from your Roxio software.

Hmm, well I think I may have deleted Roxio a long time ago, and I can't seem to find it anywhere now.

I tried the above link for 64 bit service pack, it didn't change anything.

ETA, do I need to uninstall old C++ runtime programs?  There is a set up for a Grisoft one the computer came with and a couple 2005 versions.

Is it possible you deleted some but not all of Roxio's components? That could be part of the software (the quick launch tray) throwing up an error if you have removed something that it needs to run. Go into Control Panel > Uninstall Programs and remove everything related to Roxio if anything shows up.

I am not seeing anything Roxio in there unless it is embedded in some other program that I am unaware of.

Look for any leftover Roxio services and disable them.

msconfig, startup, uncheck anything to do with roxio.

May wanna delete any reg keys with roxio in them....

If none of the above works, reinstall roxio then uninstall.  I'm guessing a quick look through msconfig's startup section will clear you up though... hopefully..

Thanks guys, I finally found it in msconfig.  I couldn't find it earlier because it is labeled Sonic rather than Roxio.
