Our dsl has been down since yesterday and we are trying to figure out what the cause is?

Power icon is solid green

DSL icon is solid red

Internet symbol is blank

The other symbol is flickering which tells me it's got some connectivity but it's weak.

I've tried different phone Jack's and same result. I even bought a new box to see if that would work and this one during install won't even recognize my dsl line.

I have a tech guy coming out tomorrow but they have said there were no outages or issues on their end...what could it be?

Do all the phones in the house have DSL filters connected?

That may not mean anything because you can't just buy a modem and plug it in and expect it to work.  Most providers require the modem to be registered on their end, which they do by connecting into it remotely.   They say it's so that they can offer better service to the customer but in reality it's so the customer can't split the service and give free internet service to other people.

IT's still sounding like the problem is with the wires coming into the house.  The technician may only be checking the wire connectivity itself, not the DSL signal.

I assume the red DSL light should be green. In that case it is probably a wire issue between the phone co and your house. Do you have phone service? Does that work?

We provide dsl modems to customers they cant use their own unless they pay a provisioning fee. Best way to test and blame them is to take your modem and bypass the house wiring by plugging into the protector, if it links up there your house wiring probably has a problem. Thats how we prove service to customers when they call in no dsl and have shitty house wiring or phone lines running along the ground to their house/houses.
