Just recently, my computer has stoppeed playing videos on youtube smoothly. Every couple seconds it stops and then will restart.  Up until this point, it was playing videos very nicely.  Any ideas on what is causing this?

Bad spelling?

Is it downloading the video fast enough to allow continuous play?

it is not downloading fast enough for continuous play.  Why is that?  It used to play just fine.  Ive done a virus scan, and it found nothing.

im using internet explorer.  Right now it seems to be working ok.  I am wondering if it is related to my shutting down the computer at night.  I just started doing this recently, and I had Windows set to download updates at 3 AM every day, and possibly when I turn the computer back on in the morning, it is checking then?

Somewhere on YouTube is a tutorial on what to do when YouTube skips. Something about uninstalling and reinstalling the Flash software.

Here it is.  This is what I did when YouTube stuff wouldn't play on my box.

It is not downloading fast enough.  It is your internet connection.  Go here ->> http://www.youtube.com/video_quality_settings  and change you settings to view only normal video quality.  That will fix it.  No need to start reinstalling shit.

I have a super-fast connection at work.  Pretty slow at home.

I just click em and watch em at work.  Not so at home.

What I do when I'm not at work is click the video, and then as soon as the first bit starts playing, I press the "Play/Pause" button to pause the video.

The download will continue.  Then, when the video is finished (or almost finished) downloading, click "Play/Pause" again to resume play of the [now completely-cached] video.
