| Doesn't seem to be much of a selection out there. Any recommendations? I eventually want to get a pair of nice studio quality speakers, but in the meantime I'd rather have something built into my monitor instead of having a couple of cheap, crappy, computer speakers cluttering up my desk. |

I have yet to come across a monitor with speakers that sound half as good as the $20 set of Altec lansing speakers I have on my desk. My monitor is a 23" Asus with built in speakers, I tried them out for about five minutes thinking it would be nice to declutter the desk a bit, after five minutes they were disconnected and haven't been used since. |

I'd rather use a nice set of headphones, because I can't bear to listen to shitty monitor speakers. I just can't do it. ![]() Oh I'll still have my Sony MDR-7506s handy, trust me. Still gotta have something that the family can use for general purposes, though. Somewhere out there is a pair of Tannoys that my dumb ass sold to a pawn shop

I'm using a set of M-Audio minimonitors. 99 bucks for the set at the local best buy. They're a bit too bassy to be really natural sounding, but other than that, they're great. Most people would love the strong bass response they have, and I don't mind, but I'm an audiophile who actually prefers a dead flat frequency response. CJ |

Saw them yesterday on the GC site, and wondered if I might be able to get by with them for a while. Can you tell me which low frequency band seems hot, and if you think it would be possible to notch it out? I don't like artificially induced bass, either. |

Just buy a small 19" LCD TV with a VGA or HDMI input. They all have speakers. Went and browsed the selection of small TVs at Sam Walton's Mart today. They are all of the 720p variety, whereas computer monitors of the same size boast a higher resolution. Does this matter one bit (or even two)? |

Built in monitor speakers are a joke. You can buy a shitty 2.1 system from newegg for like 12 dollars. It will be worth 100x the extra $$ you waste on a monitor with built ins.
