My Father-in-law has a little do-dad that he has plugged into his desktop computer that he can turn on and it broadcasts to an FM radio station.  He is not going to be around to ask any information about it for a month, so I ask for the wisdom ...... that is ar15.com....

What is it called?
Where can I get one?
How much should it cost?

Thanks!

if you mean for audio, then they are quite common. People get them for iPods and such, I think they are called FM Modulators or something like that.

They usually don't work very well. YMMV.

To get your desktop computer in your office, to play music on your stereo in the living room-30 feet away?

Well that'd be silly.  Buy more computers!

I've a couple friends who use the FM transmitter.  Short-range (across the room), they're okay.  Sound quality seems to drop off pretty quick as range increases.
