Say I click a link and it opens in a new window, well when I try to close that window by clicking the red X in the top right it takes a while to close, anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds.  They use to close right when the X was clicked.  It just started this a couple of weeks ago.

Virus/malware/spyware if you have gotten no hardware errors.

Possibly your hard drive is going out and getting slower.

I'd get Avira and AVG free for anti virus, Malwarebytes and Super anti spyware free.

Should find and clean most of anything.

No real reason to get a virus.

Last time I was in an Apple store, a computer froze and some workers were messing with another.

You can keep your over priced Apple, thanks.

Same thing started happening to Internet Explorer on my computer.  Same time frame too, roughly 2 weeks ago.  I solved the problem by going back to Firefox.

IE is shit. Don't use it. Firefox takes 1 second to load. IE takes 5 or so. I have an AMD 9950 quad core, and 4 GB of RAM.

Microsoft with all the fucking updates..everry time one comes and installs itsef, the computer gets slower.I shut it off in services and just run good av and the anti malwares plus installed mx memory in computers. You got to shut it off in services and start menus as once it starts coming in cannot shut the send off without a reboot.I also got the start menu stripped with program icons out on the desktop or in a SHU folder. If you like me with a modem forever you have to take every available step for speed
