I live in NY, in the Hudson Valley region. (That's North of NYC for you people not around here.)  I was listening to the radio on my way to work this morning, and they were talking about everyone going crazy about a sign hung outside a lumber yard.  It says "Congratulations Al-Qaeda and Kirias Joel."

Kirias Joel is a Hacidic community in the area with a population of a few thousand people.  They all vote the same, and they vote VERY liberal.  Well, the guy that runs this lumber yard is pissed off at them for voting the way they did in the last election.

He called in to the radio station while they were talking about it, and he's a very well-spoken guy.

That's about all there is that I know, but I thought the whole thing was kind of amusing.

I sincerely hope that people viewing this guy's sign will understand his sarcasm and not mistake it as being in support of Al-Qaeda.

I'm pretty sure everyone got it.  It's no secret where the votes in that community go to.  The guy was saying that everyone is all pissed off and calling him anti-semetic, but he's Jewish.  He said one of the things that REALLY bothers him about that community (other than their tax-exempt status) is that they don't support Israel, but they go around throwing the label of anti-semetic on anyone that doesn't agree with them.
