Hello all. I'm living the single life, in an apt, etc etc.
The microwave gets a bit of use, but it's a super-economy grade one. It always takes extra time, has the cheapest dial timer ever, underpowered, no programming, and the power adjustment sucks. I sub to the Consumer Reports magazine, but not to their site. Is there anyone out there that does? CR leans to the anti-gun camp, but they do great on other things. Knowing what they scored highest for ~$250 countertop microwave ovens would be a huge help! Any help is greatly appreciated!

For mid-sized counter top microwaves, Consumer Reports shows LG LCS1112ST for $140 and Avanti MO1250TW for $130 have the highest rated at 72. For large counter top microwaves, Oster OGG61403 at $120, Kennmor Elite 74229 at $180, and Kennmore Elite 75223 at $200 and Panasonic Inverter NN-H965BF at $180 have the highest ratings of 74. The LG LCRT2010[ST] at $200 and Panasonic NN-SD975S at $250 are rated at 73. All the above are recommended by CR. Hope this helps. |

Thanks guys who posted up the info!
Consumer Reports tests and compares stuff. The ones rated most 'useful' for 'reviews' on Amazon are usually Vine Voice ones, from people I'm pretty sure either got them for free (and would like to continue to get stuff for free) or have never even used the item they're 'reviewing'. Or not, as always it's a mixed bag. I've actually converted from Amazon reviews and the like to Consumer Reports. Lol. Thanks again! I now have a great starting spot for my search. |
