I believe this is the bag I see AA guys with often? Is it more rectangular than the Brightline bags (B7 set up for comparison)? Specifically I'm curious about how the Contrail FL390 fits in the bag area beside the seat of the 737, as the Brightline is so square (how I have it anyway) that the seat doesn't go all the way outboard without smooshing the seat in to the bag. Plus I love buying new bags. |

I’ve used a 410 in the 73 for several years, it’s just a little too wide, and gets squished by the seat also. I haven’t heard any complaints from the new hires with the 390. My time on the 73 is coming to an end, I can finally ditch the DC PRO-X’s. Even though the new ride has way more space, I’ll probably downsize the flight bag, but have to go up a size on the roll aboard. |

Thanks for the input!! I did look at the 410 as well and felt in looking at it and its measurements that it'd be a squick too large. My time on the 73 is just (re)beginning and shall be permanent.  When last I flew the 73 it was back in the good ol' days, the days of the great big giant Scott's leather or Sam's club facsimile old school pilot bags. |

Weren't you at ATA back in the day? One of our Sim instructors I've had seat filling several times on events I've conducted recently was an ATA 73 guy at MDW. Does a great job. I'm headed to the 78 for my last 5 years. Excited, and terrified at the same time. I've been commuter scum, and narrow body guy for the last 36 years. Feels like I'm jumping into the deep end, without knowing how to swim

Is the instructor an AA line guy as well? Or "only" an instructor? Have fun on the 787! I mean at the end of the day it's a Boeing so really how hard can it be?!?! |

I'm not worried about the airplane, compared to the 73, it's actually automated. I'm more worried about the lifestyle. Flying all night, and sleeping in the bunk, but I'll get it figured out. Can't be any worse than 4-5 legs/day, rolling delays and reassignments. |
