I have used CutePDF and it does work..

Our work computers now have PDFCreator installed on them - With it you can convert anything to a PDF AND combine different PDF's into one file.. I have not tried it yet since I have Adobe Pro on my computer..

another +1 for pdf creator.  I use it frequently and have never had any problems you use it by the print button and then it saves it as a pdf. Very quick and easy.

this works great, use the print drop down from file, then select printer, "PDF"
and thats it.. simple

If you use Microsoft Office 2007, microsoft offers a small patch that will allow you to choose PDF in the "Save As" window.
