Ok, I have read a lot about this Wilson Combat Cop Tool and I wanted to get one until I seen the price around 120.00 (approx).  I decided to go to wilson combat page and notice another knife just like the wilson tool, except this one was a Boker Cop Tool.  Other then a paracord wrapped handle and one is made with D2 steel and the other is 440, is there any difference?  Does anyone have one?

Here is the links:

A halligan in the front seat/trunk trunk is a little less graceful but a whole hell of a lot more useful.  Just my skepticism of all-in-one wunder tools.

i thought this was gonna be a bashing thread or maybe something about what some D-bag on your watch did at the precinct...

I believe the Wilson tool would work wonders at separating you from your money.

For $40 you can get one of these at most Lowes or Home Depots

What I am looking for is something I can carry on me, not a breaching tool.  The Boker cop tol is 39.99 vic the 120.00 for the wilson tool.  I don't think that was too much.  That is wy I was asking if someone has compared the two.

Some of those things are nice, but not practical to carry on a duty belt.  The EOD breacher bar is very close, but rather large.  What I was hoping is that someone who actually has one would be able to give me some input about them.  We are not allowed to have breaching equipment or pry bars in our cars.  Thanks...

I have the Lowes gizmo that TxCop mentioned in my active shooter rig.  It's a little big for belt use, but I look at it, like everything else in my ASR, as critical to have for those major incidents and I will deal with the weight.  Virginia Tech illustrated the need to have breaching equipment available to everyone.  We put halligans in every supervisor car, which is adequate for the non-emergency stuff.

Ok.  I guess I should not have posted this topic here.  I was not trying to open a discussion on breaching tools or why one should have them in their cars or not.  I was just wondering about this tool I had seen on several officers and wanted a bit more information. It is not a breaching tool, but a multi-tool like item.  Sort of like a knife with a few extra bells and whistles.  If anyone has any info on these tools that I posted, please let me know.  thanks...

Still it is a good topic to talk about.  I have the Wilson Tool and like it, it is nice for prying when you have nothing else.  I like it and even though they are a bit pricey I think they are worth the cost for its capabilities.  I kept mine on my bunker gear for the times I did not have my irons.

As for Forcible Entry I completely agree that the need for FE should be available in some form for an Active Shooter Contact Team.  For the best one person tool I would look at the Paratech Buster Tool or Pry-Axe.  It is possible for one person to force entry on commercial doors with this tool.  It is pricey however, but again worth the cost.

No harm done, thanks for bringing it up.  Cops are an opinionated bunch, but we don't always stay on topic.

I would love to have the Wilson, but it is a little more than I want to spend.

I've been thinking about this one...

That paratech buster tool is way too cool.  I have to talk to the boss and let him buy me one...lol

Cormorantslayer.
That Kbar tool looks like a boker cop tool that is all grown up.  Did you look at the Boker Cop tool?  It is only 39.99 and looks just like the wilson tool, but without the paracord handle.  I a still wondering how it would compare with the wilson.  That Kbar looks good, but not sure if I could actually carry it on me.  It does look like a good alternative though.  Thanks for the link.

I'm thinking about the boker for my duty belt, but I want a larger one to pull double duty between my SWAT Vest and Active Shooter rig.

I figure the Boker will do in a pinch, but if I end up in an active shootersituation I want something a little larger with more leverage.

The site you posted shows $59.99

I have seen it for less as low as 39.99 depending on the web site.  I guess that sight was just a bad example, but it had the specs to compare it to the wilson tool.

Better priced site

Go with the breacher bar from Countycomm and get some paracord while your at it so you can wrap the handle yourself.  Don't waste your money on a name.

I am really leaning in that direction, but there is not seatbelt cutter (ran into that situation the other night) and I don't have the tools to put an edge on it or make a sheath.  I also read that the tool rusts under the paracord.  This tool will be worn close to my body and subjected to moisture due to my work around the water.

you shouldn't need a seatbelt cutter.  you carry a knife don't you?  it's not sharp, so you shouldn't need a sheath.  as far as rusting handles.....go to  home depot and get the rubber tool handle dip(like whats on the handle of pliers) clean the bar up good and dip the handle.  it'll never rust!!!

Don't waste your money on the Paratech tool; we tried them.  We broke them in a matter of hours.  If you want forcible entry, get a haligan, or know how to get in without forcing.
