"That was when the officer Marcel Jackson, the cop who initiated the stop, was sent to his patrol car and internal affairs Lieutenant David Ramras assumed control of the situation.
Realizing the outranking officer with more than two decades of seniority over him was going to turn him into the aggressor, Jackson pulled out his cell phone and began taking photos of the officers that began arriving. But then a cop ordered him to stop. And another cop later ordered him to delete the photos." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

And yes, the speed of backup was freaky. Everyone wanted to get a few shots in on the shoofly. I'd respond warp factor 5 if I knew I could get some shots in on a IA or Inspections boss.

So the fat detective IDed himself in the beginning, started to get out of the car and the patrolman tossed him on the ground? The detective is a douche but that's weird ass behavior by the patrolman.I never saw the standard hand exchange of documents. Didn't the LT refuse to hand them over? |

I don't recall anything in the Florida Statutes that permits that. It's okay, though. Department rivalries seem to produce hilarious incidents down there. They should up the game a few notches and put it on Pay Per View. |

That's just it, no ID'd without information in hand and the LT still has to present his offical state of FL DL when commanded to do so. ETA: How in the hell dos an IA LT have the authority to assume command in a situation like this? |

More and more, I think I need to get a dash cam for my cars. They are hell of cheap. http://dashcamtalk.com/ I have no use for (maybe, maybe not) incriminating GPS, often think of turning the sound record function off also. Best $105 I ever spent. Inexpensive and direct from china, http://www.aliexpress.com/ |

It was awful. I saw cops from other departments. Retired guys. They were coming out of the trees. It was... biblical. |

LOL. Internal Affairs will investigate Internal Affairs.
Miami Police Investigating Footage of Lieutenant Fighting Cop at Traffic Stop A Miami PD spokesman declined to comment on the video to Riptide, but confirmed that an Internal Affairs case has been opened because of the footage.
The footage only exists, Crespo reports, because Jackson had a GoPro camera running on his dashboard; when officers later began hounding him for a cell phone he was also recording with, he hid the camera in a seat cushion. The first clip shows the tussle with a man that Crespo identifies as Lieutenant David Ramras, who works in Internal Affairs. http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2014/07/watch_a_miami_police_lieutenant_fight_a_cop_at_a_traffic_stop.php PSSSTTT... Cops talking about it here: http://www.leoaffairs.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=160835 Jackson is as militant as they come. And Ramres is an arrogant asshole. That's a bad mix. Jackson definitely knew who he was. He just picked the wrong battle. He's gonna lose in the long run. This administration is good at covering shit up. The cop is an idiot. Once he saw the driver was a MPD officer it should have been over. If he told Ramras that he didn't want to see his ID but his DL, he is an asshole. Every cop at MPD has been guilty of speeding on the city streets. Sounds like a cop with an attitude. Or just a total fuck up and idiot. You my friend forget that IA was actively enforcing speed limits on 836 and trying to nail MPD officers going or coming to work; a Sweetwater PD motorman even got in a pissing match with them over it (seems like they did not notify other agencies that they were working in their jurisdiction).
What you think IA would to you if they caught you speeding down the highway; let you go once they see you are an MPD officer? They have the attitude of do as I say, not as I do! I say good on the officer for holding them to the same standards that they force on everybody else. I just hope the officer does not fold under the pressure to sweep the incident under the rug. |

Wow those fuckers came outta nowhere! Cliffs notes? All I could hear was a dog barking. It was the incessant "DING" that got to me, kept looking to see if something was wrong with my computer. And yes, the speed of backup was freaky. I liked the K-9 guy with the hat on backwards, the low-drop holster, and who appeared to be wearing a Sons of Anarchy t-shirt. |

To try and protect himself even more, I have been told that Jackson put a call in to the State Attorney’s Office, seeking guidance and approval for an arrest, and in the course of the conversation revealed to them that he had recorded the entire incident on a dash cam.
Jackson was then ordered to go to IA and give a statement. During the course of that interview, which some believe was the prelude to relieving Jackson from duty, the folks in IA discovered the existence of the dash cam and the video tape. Jackson was asked to voluntarily turn over the tape, refused, and was eventually ordered to do so under the claim that it was evidence in a criminal investigation. My sources tell me that as a result of the way in which this investigation has been handled so far there was never a Use Of Force Report, a traffic citation against Ramras for speeding, or an Arrest Report written, and that no Warrant issued. Ramras has supposedly been transferred laterally from IA to SIS, which some people actually consider a promotion of sorts, and he was provided an attorney by the FOP. Jackson so far remains on patrol, and went out and got his own lawyer, because even though the video tape clearly shows that Ramras was the aggressor in his efforts to get out of his car, Jackson as the low man on the totem pole is believed to be the one who stands the best chance of actually being punished over this incident. It’s just another example of how the Family & Friends Plan works in the Banana Republic of Miami. http://photographyisnotacrime.com/2014/07/14/miami-cop-fearing-termination-altercation-speeding-internal-affairs-lieutenant/ |

Seriously though, a chance to tee-off on someone from IA? It would look more like this...

I have a feeling IAB LT is going to be on the other side.
