If I use a phrase in my web site that is from copywrite material but I give credit, is it legal?

Yeah, you're fine. Good to go. Unless the person states: "Not permitted to reprint without express written permission from the author, blah, blah, etc."

dont worry about it, they have to give you a cease and decist if they want you to stop. I think you are protected under journalism or something.
