Those who own them what do you think of thier personalities. I already have 3 small to medium dogs and a cat. Do they get along with other animals? Any problems at all? What about with grooming? Post pics of you got them

Thanks in advance.

Great little dogs, smart and friendly in my experience. In general they get along good with other animals if they've been properly socialized. They're UBER high energy tho, they love to go go go, so if you don't have the time to keep them busy or play alot with them expect some behavior problems. They do not like to sit still.

We owned a kennel when I was young, and one of the ladies who worked there with us was a Corgi breeder and we got to spend a lot of time with them.

Both my sisters have them.  One sister has a male and female and the other 1 has a male.   The males are older, the female is younger but not a puppy. The young female is annoying.  It ALWAYS wants to play and barks at you if you aren't game.  They all compete for attention.  They're all very sweet and affectionate but most dogs are.

Good dogs, high energy, and prone to back problems later in life.  That long low build doesn't do them any favors when jumping off beds or other high places.

They also have a herding instinct, so they might try to corral the kids, cats, or just about anything else moving under it's own power.  Not so bad as Border Collies in that regard though.

Great dogs. Smart as hell. She has a tendency to be a little barky, but we always know the minute a person is at our door. Even before they knock. Be prepared for a lot of hair if you get one.

We can't wait to get another

This is the importing thing to remember about a Pembroke Welsh Corgi -- breeding matters.  You can avoid lots of unknown medical history and chance of problems by going with a reputable breeder.  The dog pictured above is a Greenforest.  My wife spent months researching the breed, breeding standards (be careful, for some breeds the "standards" result in poor health traits) and breeders.  The other thing, besides exercise and activity (mentioned previously) is diet.  The dogs will overeat if you allow them to.  A breeder has pictures of a rescue that was 70lbs! (over twice the breed weight ~25-30lbs)

Great little dogs.  We have one fullbred and one that's mostly Corgi but with something else probably Beagle.  They do like to bark when they hear a noise outside so I guess that makes them good alert dogs.

As someone else mentioned they will eat like pigs if you let them so you have to keep an eye on their diet.

They are playful and smart though and good lapdogs.

Only negative worth mentioning is they shed a lot.

I think they are the best breed of dog unless you need a large guard dog. They have great personalities, friendly, very smart, usually gets along with other animals, energetic, and great watch dogs. The two downsides are they can have back problems later in life, and they shed........ REALLY shed.

However, if you get one from a reputable breeder, and keep it at its ideal weight (25-30lbs) you will have a great companion.

Here is some pics of our 1.5 year old Tri-Color Male PWC. (His coat looks bad because I haven't brushed him this week yet)

My GF has one... great personality...
Shed alot is an understatement... they shed profusely, like a short legged german shephard..

Oh almost forgot... they HATE having their front feet handled... they tuck them under... strange trait...

Awww The pictures are great.

The shedding isnt a problem because we have a sheltie and she is one of the hairiest dogs i have ever owned. We vaccum a lot at our house. We have a large fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run.

We,ve got three.  1 female and two males.  I think they're great dogs.  Very loyal and smart.  They do try to herd the horses sometimes .   But all that playing helps them unwind.  They actually get pretty lazy in the evenings and chill on the couch with us. They get along great with our 2 bigger dogs.

Huh...?!!

You don't have to convince him, you're the girl and that means you get whatever your little heart desires...
