Just discovered this online today.  I know some hams get SUPER expensive.   Like thousands.  But for around the holidays, these seem to be well liked.  The knife that comes with it seems hokey.  But has anyone tried these from Costco?  They seem pretty big so maybe a lot would be wasted other than if hosting a big party with 30-40 guests.  What's your experience been?

Thanks

it's huge if you slice the way you're supposed to.....it makes A LOT of meat for your Charcuterie boards.

If it's just you and your wife, or even a decent sized family, it will be too much.  If you're hosting parties YMMV

Very tasty, but obviously not as developed of a flavour profile as what you get with an artisan ham.   I bought one last year and we ate on it until we were tired of it.  I vacuum bagged what was left and stashed it in the pantry.  About time to pull it out and finish it off.  The skin/fat/bones make awesome soup stock.

Never had it but if it’s the one from dartagnan it will be legit.

I had costco sliced iberico one year and it was awesome.

Are you familiar with this style?  It’s like prosciutto, salty and mainly for snacking.

Is Serrano just the name, or does it have chiles in it?

The name. No chiles.

The knife, indeed, sucks.

There is def. a lot of meat on one. I had a lot of meat vac sealed to munch on after the initial euphoria wore off.

I knew it was more for snacking which is why I said I'd need to throw a bigger party for one to make sense.  Just didn't know if this specific one tasted good.

Thanks

That's what I was thinking.....just not in any shape to plan a big holiday party for this year and I think most of it would go to waste.

It's a ton, if I was to do it again I'd split one with someone. We did christmas and new years boards and still had enough left over that I dumped it on the guys at work.

Very tasty though!
