Because the standard search function doesn't work, I'm forced to start a new thread.

CostCo wrote me back with this:

"Dear Jonathan,

Thank you for your email to Costco Wholesale.

In reference to your inquiry on our policy disallowing the carrying of
firearms in our warehouse stores.
Costco does not believe that it is necessary for firearms to be brought
into its warehouse stores, except in the case of authorized law
enforcement officers. For the protection of all our members and
employees, we feel this is a reasonable and prudent precaution to
ensure
a pleasant shopping experience and safe workplace. Our policy is meant
to protect our members and employees in all warehouses around the
world.
This is not a new policy and we do not customize the policy for each
individual city/county/state/country where we do business.
Bringing a firearm into our warehouse does not enhance the shopping
experience.  We are sorry the message you are hearing is that "we don't
want you." It is the firearms that we exclude in the warehouses, not
the
carriers.

Sincerely,

xxx"

My response:

Costco:

Thank you for your prompt response.  Just a thought for your upper management... it is not the shopping experience I am looking to enhance, it is my life.  A desperate man with a knife in the parking lot while I'm walking back to my car with all my new CostCo goodies, isn't going to wait until I get to my car to get something to defend myself.

Then how is my shopping experience enhanced?  It's not... it's none existant.

I speak from personal experience, and it doesn't take twice to teach me that I was naive.

Thank you for your service, but I would rather join a company that actually cares about me making it back to my car after I buy the goodies, not just me getting in and buying them.

Sincerely and with regret,

REALM

Ask them for stats on how many people ever got hurt by a firearm carried by a legal carrier in one of their stores.

Got the same reply and sent them my opinion.  BTW, when you wish to exclude the firearms of the law-abiding, you exclude the law-abiding.
