| If there were one closer to me, I'd likely never walk inside a grocery store again. |

It's where the Golden Corral/Ponder-down-at-the-Rosa go when there's not one nearby. One of the few places I see GOO GOO clusters for sale. Lotsa junk too, mostly made in that exotic land known as China.
What's the draw? Sysco brand food prepared by half-wit "cooks" isn't a valid answer. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Their country-fried steak, taters/gravy, greens and green beans work for me. +1 - that's my order. I 'discovered' CB on last summer's vacation while driving from Fla to NC. It's not fine dining, and I don't think anyone would pretend it is. But if the alternative is McD's or Taco Bell, and on the interstate they are often the only alternatives, it looks pretty damn good. My kids love it - food, gift shop, the works - and the service in my experience is efficient and polite, unlike most fast food outlets. I'll be doing the same trip this summer - already looking forward to CB |
| Its the most f'ed up thing but about once a year I seriously crave a CB steak and baked potato. Its the only time I ever eat steak that's not cooked at home and even then,I only make steaks maybe 3 times per year and always with a good piece of Brandt beef but I just need one from CB. Maybe I'm an AARP member once a year. |

I will eat there if I have to but the food is nothing special. The greens are probably some of the worst I have ever had, gotta be out of a can along with the green beans and the chicken 'n dumplings are bland, I hear people raving about those dishes and you know it's just because they don't know any better (the same way someone will talk great about a Chrysler or GM product, they just have never had anything better). |

While I wouldn't call it "delicious", it's pretty good home style country cooking. Not as good as what you will get in some farm kitchens where the woman of the house is a real woman, but it's the next best thing, mostly. |

So how bad was the accident that took your taste buds?? That shit is inedible Telling someone who knows/grew up with actual good country cooking how delicious Cracker Barrel is is like telling Italians how great Olive Garden is. |
