Who would have thought that not locking up/releasing criminals back onto our streets would increase crime rates! 
Big Data + Academicians = Crime Rate Reduction? Don’t worry, they are in control Richard Krupp, PhD. October 13, 2015 There have been several news stories recently regarding crime data and whether the crime rate is increasing, and whether or not there are explanations for any changes. As a person who has spent some time in various university research and criminology classes, I find some of the stories rather amusing. Of course there is big data involved in the evidence-based research. Resaearches are watching us and collecting data. They know things that us commoners couldn’t possibly comprehend. Unfortunately the credence given to academician interpreters is something I feel is misplaced, much as faith was placed in the alchemists and snake oil salesmen of bygone days. Full Story |
