Im watching a documentary about Fidel Castro on Netflix streaming. http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Fidel/60024984?strkid=1771865840_0_0&lnkctr=srchrd-sr&strackid=9a5613055b83869_0_srl&trkid=222336 The US obviously screwed the pooch when it came to Cuba. I think it might be time to turn over a new leaf. They are no longer aligned with the Soviets, they have had no overt resistance against the US in my lifetime. The embargo should be ended. I may be a bit biased. My alma mater, Auburn, player her first bowl game in the Bacardi Bowl in Havana |

Quoted: The Castro regime would have fallen a decade ago if Joe Blow and family were allowed to go down there on vacation. The embargo only props them up by giving them a common enemy to focus on. Honestly, Im not even sure the Casto regime is a bad thing at this point. I have never heard of any dissent since the Bay of Pigs, so Fidel seems to have the consent of the governed. |

I couldn't speak to that, I'm much more familiar with Cuba, MO than the Cuba down in the Caribbean. I hear it's got one of the smallest Wal-Marts in the US. It's the smallest one I've ever been in. |

Castro argued with Kruschev in favor of nuking NYC. When he and his brother die, if the new government will bury them in a giant pig farm cesspool, then Cuba can have normalized trade relations.
Besides, the primary objection to reopening trade with Cuba is that the trading companies want the U.S. government to guarantee loans made to Cuba for trade goods. Think Castro is going to repay us, or is he just gonna pull a GM? |

More than a few of the "governed" live here in the U.S.

I'd call that "dissent".

The lucky ones have escaped. Go talk to someone who has escaped that socialist prison island and get back to me.
