I've always known Cuban sandwiches to be like the ones described here as Miami. That being said the Tampa version sounds delicious too

Well of the 17 I sold, the customer reaction ranged:
The bread is perfect. An 8/10. Not a home run, but pretty damn close. Really good. Amazing. Too much mustard. Excellent, but could use a little more mustard. Should have a sauce, but really good. OMG I’ll be back for another. I devoured it. So amazing. Perfect. Too much meat. Hard to really get good feedback from people, but I’ll be doing it again. Over all, it’s super easy prep the bread and pork, but time consuming to put together for an order. Next time I’ll cook it the day before I serve it as it was definitely better today than yesterday. I’ll also slice it and hot hold the slices. |

Sliced Roasted pork (puerco asado) for the win.
Went to a Cuban restaurant in Tampa close to the airport, the Cuban Sandwich had shredded pork (barf) I felt like I was eating a Mexican carnitas sandwich. |

Thanks. Of those, which was your favorite? C Senor is just an outside stand and you eat on a bench outside. At the mercy of the weather and limited seating, but their sandwich is good. So if you want a restaurant with other choices as well, Havana Cafe is the closest full restaurant to me. I often eat a kid's cuban (which is really a full-sized sandwich for $4) as an appetizer, and then order a meal. Caribbean Cafe probably has the best food, but the slowest service, and it's twice as far for me. LAST on the list would be the Cuban Dulceria, but they have pastelitos de carne (for like $3+/ea! - expensive) which no one else has. Their sandwich is my least favorite though IIRC they have awards for it on their walls. Quoted:

Columbian guy owns a place here who make a Cubana with some kinda shredded cheese,AL pastor, ham, picked jalapeños, avocado, little bit of salsa fresca, little bit of refried beans on the roll.
Jesus Cristo it's the best sandwich you can put inside your face IMO. |
