So we've got this pond out back and we've got this nesting pair of Canada geese. This is our second year in the house and I bet these birds have been coming here for longer than that. There's a handy little island (hidden by the cedar tree in the lower right of the pic) that's an ideal nesting site.
Last night/this morning the goslings hatched out. Today is DAY 1 of the rest of their lives. Last year they hatched out 6 that lived exactly one day before something came along and gobbled them up. Hope these guys last longer. And I really need a longer lens...
