I live in north Alabama, I order something that gets shipped out of Memphis via DHL, and this is what the tracking shows...

4/14/2009  6:15 AM ET  HEBRON, KY, US  DEPARTURE ORIGIN DHL GLOBAL MAIL FACILITY
4/14/2009 12:32 AM ET HEBRON, KY, US PROCESSED
4/13/2009 11:58 PM ET HEBRON, KY, US ARRIVAL ORIGIN DHL GLOBAL MAIL FACILITY
4/13/2009 12:35 PM CT MEMPHIS, TN, US PICK UP

Why the hell would you take something from Memphis, bring it over to Hebron (close to Cincinnati) , and bring it back down to north Alabama?

Its no wonder DHL is quitting the shipping business in the US if that's the way they ship things around....

They're still around, I ordered some memory from newegg, and they shipped DHL, well they sent it from NJ to NY DHL then it was mailed USPS from the DHL distro center

Larger newegg purchases that ship UPS I normally receive the next day, the little shit they send DHL takes 5 days

their hub is near Cincinnati, just like Fedex in Memphis and UPS in Louisville

This.  They don't have sorting facilities all over the country. It's called a Hub and Spoke system. Point to Point would be better for you in this case, but freight companies would go out of business using this model.
