Starting a pistol build and already have a trigger.  Building on a Spike's dueling dicks stripped lower.  Are the DPMS kits gtg?

Good enough.

Yes..DPMS parts work just fine.

The few of them that I tried (including CMMG when they were rebranding) were complete garbage and were thrown in the trash as soon as better parts were available.

A high quality LPK is not much more.

This was during the first Obama panic so take that for what it's worth.

I've used two that were fine. I've used 13 RRA and they have become my preferred LPK. My next LPK on the bench is a PSA...

- Roll pins that deformed/mushroomed at the slightest tap, being grossly oversized didn't help matters

- Engagement surfaces that looked (and felt) like they were finished with a hacksaw

- Safety "detent indentions" (not the proper name) that were so deep and rough it hindered safety operation

- Bolt catch/release surfaces that looked like split firewood, and would cause bolt lock issues

- Springs that would deform/squish if not PERFECTLY installed, and made control operation feel like a dollar store toy.

- The detents were painted with something that looked gold, but quickly flaked off

Edit: This was a while back and they may have stepped things up.

My experience has put them on my NFEA list though.  Save the $15 if you want to.

I used a DPMS LPK -FCG to build a Spikes lower a couple of months back. It was GTG.

Add to that porous surfaces, non inspected critical parts in the FCG, hammers and disconnectors breaking, hammer pins breaking, springs nowhere near spec, etc.

Other than that, they make great vismod build parts if you don't plan to shoot much.
