Anyone have one? I am thinking hard about getting one of these. Is there still a long wait time on these like a year or so ago? |

Quoted: The barrel is supposed to be pretty good on this.A DPMS with a quad rail forend and a MagPul stock is still a DPMS. With a quad rail forend, and a MagPul stock. Oh, and a PSG-1 grip that was hokey ten years ago. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile "The heart of the Mini SASS and key element to its wonderful accuracy is its barrel. At first glance I thought it was a carbon steel barrel but closer inspection revealed that it is machined from 416 stainless steel and to give it a stealthy appearance, DPMS technicians Teflon coat it a non-reflective black. DPMS uses an 18-inch barrel on the Mini SASS, a perfect compromise length balancing the benefits of a short barrel for portability but with enough length for effective velocity and accuracy. To stabilize the heavier bullets the barrel is button rifled with a 1-in-8-inch twist. DPMS air gauges the Mini SASS barrels to ensure uniformity and accuracy." |
| Mini SASS? As in 5.56? I have the 7.62 version and love it if not somewhat heavy fully loaded (optics and ammo). Initial open paterns but after about 300 rounds it has settled down and am getting .5 groupings with reloads - a real shooter and no problems to date. Hope things work out for you ..... |

Yes, 5.56, the little brother to the SASS. |
| I have the mini sass barrel but not the complete gun... the barrel is available on midway for around 220 and weighs a ton. Anyone handloaded for this barrel yet? My best results came from speer 52 gr HP but the 69 and 77 nosler cc worked really well too. Got sub 1 inch groups once or twice but most often 1.5 inch using RL15 and BLC2 @100 yards |
