I would like to know if anyone can tell my why my new Toshibe 5 disc dvd player keeps putting the subtitles on, again, & again while I'm watching a movie. I was watching BHD yesterday, & it would be good for a while, & then just start putting the sub titles back on again. Also it seems like almost every movie there is a spot where it seems to freeze frame for a second, & then continues to play normal. What causes this, or is it the way these new fangled gadgets are supposed to work? It almost makes me want to go back to videos.
Thanks for any help in understanding this semi new gear.

I got hooked on Netflix. The only problem is that it takes so long to rewind the DVD.

I don't know why your player is adding subtitles midmovie, but I've encountered several glitchs with different makers DVD players.  First DVD player a Daewoo DVC5000G I had would turn Subtitles on any time you turned off the player or put in a new movie.

Pause the movie and when you came back it was jumpy and looked like the "show trails" feature of a mouse pointer.  If you hit stop then play it would return to normal (it kept same spot as pause would).

The pause near the middle of the movie (sometimes early on) is the DVD player changing layers on the DVD (most Disks are 2 layer).   If you have any other questions regarding DVD's as in copying ect. go to www.vcdhelp.com
