What kind of DVR?



There are DVR devices that will record OTA just fine, although you may have to program them manually unless it can go online and download OTA listings based on your local channel numbering.

it will be based on your capture card.
you can get one that does use a regular antenna, or coax or rca jacks.

that will give  you the input to the software to record.
hauppauge is the main card maker people use for this.

I have a Channel Master CM7400 OTA dvr. Works pretty well. We cut the cable a while back. I still get cable shows off the internet, so it works for us.
