Last night, a local Police Department  had some officers out at one of our more regularly "troubled" clubs, one which caters mostly to a race other than my own. Apparently, over the past year or so, it has become something of a sport to drive by the club and shoot the building or into the air from a vehicle as one rides by. Not a nightly thing mind you, but often enough that no LEO's in town are really surprised too much that it happens.

Anyway, last night, as the story has gone so far, the sport of choice began with a vehicle riding by and taking a few shots out the window. Luckily, police are nearby and give chase to a vehicle they saw speeding away from the area immediately after the shots were fired. They finally get the vehicle stopped, and 3 occupants out of the vehicle with a felony traffic stop (guns drawn and tension quite high), during which all 3 occupants are decidedly unhappy with the result. About the time everyone is out of the vehicle, one of the retards makes a mad dive for the vehicle, and comes up with something in his hand...I think you can guess the rest...BOOM!

Lesson #1 learned so far: If the police have their guns on you, STFU and sit still.

Lesson #2: 45/230 has just as much going for it now as it ever did. Nice shot, according to an unnamed source, who said in the .45ACP vs forehead race, the forehead lost big time.

Edit: Will throw up a news link this evening after it hits the news.

Man shot, killed by TPD officers

Victim believed to be reaching for weapon

Tallahassee police shot and killed a man on High Road early this morning when they thought he was reaching for a weapon, a TPD report said.

The officers were responding to reports of gunfire coming from a Chevrolet Caprice on High Road about 2:08 a.m. today, according to the report.

Here is what the report says happened:

When the Caprice pulled into the First Christian Church parking lot, police attempted to secure the three occupants. One of them, John Hayes, did not follow the police instructions, so an officer tried to detain him with a Taser and a baton.

Hayes got back into the vehicle and officers, fearing he was reaching for a weapon, shot him.

The officers involved in the shooting are on administrative leave until a full investigation is completed and given to the state attorney.

Your post reminded me of an interesting news story:

A man shot his girlfriend in the forehead with a .357 Magnum and fled, arrested mere minutes later. Cops and paramedics showed up to his apartment and were getting the body bag ready when the girlfriend stirred and complained of an intense migraine.

The bullet had entered her skull, passed between the two lobes of her brain, and exited the back of her skull. She had a serious concussion but was otherwise fine. Luckiest SOB ever.

And another winner assumes room temperature.

Just out of morbid academic curiosity, does anyone know what the idiot was reaching for?  Was it in fact a gun, or was he going for his cell phone?

That's gotta be BS!?

If not, one more reason to carry .45

No word yet. I'm anxiously awaiting the verdict myself, since one of the officers involved is well known to me.  They knew there was a weapon in the vehicle and he jumped in and came up with something.

Anyone placing bets as to how it takes before the race card is played?
