It just struck me that I only heard it pronounced that way on tv, and I live here and worked with a bunch of drug dealers back in the day.

of course most of those guys were in crack or coke.

Just curious. I watched the Wire and a documentary on Frank Matthews. And there were a bunch of old Baltimore guys talking about dat herawn and I was like, I've been here thirty years and never heard it it said like that.

I've heard it down here, I think it is just more of an urban dialect. Almost like pronouncing sword like swore-d.
