Is it weird to date someone with the same name as your ex?
She initiated contact, and so far we've hit it off quite well (A British girl not afraid of guns But she has the same name as my last serious girlfriend, who broke my heart 2½ years ago. So it brings back memories, good and bad. Would you? |

What difference would it make? Oh, you said it brings back 'memories'.
Get over the first one or you will never be able to commit to this one. In other words... get over it and have fun with this one. Life is to short for this kind of BS. (not a slam, most of us have been there; just sayin') |
| If you're having issues because her name is the same as your ex's and you're reminded of your ex then you're probably not ready. Sorry, but it doesn't sound like you've moved on. Make peace with the issue and either take some more time before you date again or accept the fact that you might have a great gal who happens to have the same name and enjoy it. |

It's so cliche' that it seems
the worst of things that could possibly be mentioned to a member that posted this here, however I have to ask the same question that virtually everyone on this board, given the opportunity to do so if they were thinking clearly, would ask..... Pics of the past and current object of your desire? |

Quoted:
I dated four girls that their ex husbands were the same name as mine and it was a little odd at times. That's nothing. The previous boyfriends of the last two girls I dated before my wife were apparently each hung like Thermos bottles. Now that's pressure! |

I've dated other girls in the past couple of years but none with the same name |

Why not? At least you won't call her by the wrong name. Any potential weirdness will be more than balanced out by this. Also, it simplifies life for your friends. Agreed. You need to be thoughtful to your friends as well. There's nothing worse than trying to keep my friends' significant others straight

If it get's too weird, there's always |

You can't avoid people because they have the same name. Get over your ex and give it a try with the new girl after you post pics. Sorry not posting pics. But here's one of a safe... http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x422/Armourer-in-training/safe1.jpg ![]() I don't think she would fit in there? |

OK. This breathtakingly stupid relationship thread I've seen since I've been here. And that takes in a lot of territory. I just saw this.
It's like they're constantly looking for new ways to NOT have a happy relationship. ![]() Exactly. I do not understand it. |

Quoted:
The only chick I ever turned down because of her name was a girl that had the same name as my mom. ![]() ... my brother got divorced... went to a dating site and got an intro... the woman looked almost EXACTLY like his wife's MOTHER.... losing proposition. He apologized and she accepted it. Now he's married to a beautiful lady with German/ Swedish descent. |

Quoted: Can she cook and clean? Then her name is irrelevant because she'll eventually be known as the Mrs.
