I just reminded my 10 year-old son that today is the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Listening to the radio and watching the news this morning there has been no mention of it anywhere.

Oddly, I've heard multiple discussions about Justin Bieber in news reports, but NOTHING about the significance of today.

We're doomed.

I see thousands of news stories on Pearl Harbor in the last 24 hours by searching Google News. Would like to see more prominent coverage of it though.

I finally got to go to the Arizona memorial this summer. It was emotional intense for me but as others have said, there are more japanese there than Americans.

Johnny Dare mentioned it.........98.9. Best morning show I've had the pleasure of listening to in awhile.

The memorial ceremony and moment of silence is at 7.55am Hawaii time (12.55pm EST) today, should (hopefully) be live on the news then.

I got the opportunity to visit it last January, while the wife and I were there getting married. It was an absolutely amazing place to visit. I wish I would have had more time to see everything....

I love America.

Who else would get ambushed by a foreign nation, nuclearly rape their cities, and then allow them to flourish here?

Only Americans.

Remember Pearl Harbor.

Sadly, some believe it's ancient history that has nothing to do with anything.

Always been a downer of a day for me. Despite my handle, I'm not Japanese but Oahu-born Fil-Am saddened by how little December 7th seems to resonate with modern Americans.

Watched Tora, Tora, Tora last night. Tonight, watching the Great Raid and getting drunk on San MIguels, thinking of the holes torn from both sides of my family tree during the campaign that began 10 hours after the Pearl raid. And thanking God that my father lived through that occupation. A good man, he never passed on his residual anger, but did teach us to remember and respect our dead. Now teaching the same to my children.

Just FYI, there are some pretty good movies on the subject of WWII on TCM and Fox Movie Channel tonight.

Some are pretty old and maybe even unheard of by some, but I have seen them and they are pretty good.

Task Force
To The Shores of Tripoli
Air Force
The Longest Day
They Were Expendable

There were probably some good ones on earlier and, if so, I missed them.

My son's 7th grade AMERICAN HISTORY class gave this tragic and historic event about 30 seconds worth of discussion today.  I'm tempted to write a letter.  His history teacher is awful.

The history channel had an awesome show on last night. I didn't have opportunity to watch all of it, but it's on the dvr so I can watch it tonight.
