Whatever drive Def Leppard had for making good music was in their drummer's left arm.  They haven't made anything worth a shit since Pyromania.

I wish Def Leppard and Aerosmith would collide at high speed, and completely annihilate each other, like matter and antimatter.

I like them. One of the best shows I ever attended that I didn't work was them in the round for the Hysteria tour with Tesla opening in 1988. A great and wonderful show. No traffic and the hall was about a mile from my house, so we just walked over.

With the exception of that entire "make love to a man" disc*- whatever it was called- their discography is solid IMHO. Even the Sparkle Lounge disc. Joe's voice hasn't held up that great but it isnt that bad.

* the producer raped them on that disc. Not only did they write some clunkers like the aforementioned song and "do you wanna get rocked?", they completely screwed up the first studio version of "Tear It Down", which is an excellent song...

I always respected the fact they kept the drummer after loosing his arm.  I think most bands would have fired/replaced him.  They worked with him got him up to speed and moved forward. Kinda says family.....brotherhood to me.

I saw that tour also; I think we were about fifth row.  I thought my roommate (a guitarist) was going to cry when the guitarist for Tesla tossed a Les Paul Gold Top to his roadie- and the roadie was staring as some chick and completely missed the guitar which hit the concrete floor and snapped the neck off.  Good times.

I really didn't care for them much after Pete Willis left. High and Dry ranks as one of the top ten albums ever for me.

I could tolerate Pyromania, but haven't liked anything since.
