Quattro Pro 3.0.  Man, did that ROCK.  SO far superior to Lotus and Excel.  Then they changed it in 4.0 to look and feel like Excel.  And it SUCKED.

I have hated Excel and all others until Open Office came out.

Just about everything. Seriously, doesn't matter where it's made or by who. 90% of everything these days is pure garbage, at least at the consumer level. We'd rather pay for something that costs half as much, but have to replace 4 times over. Remember when we got those little pieces of paper called warranties inside the box, rather than at the check out and cost 25% and up of the product itself?

Ha ha, you're joking, right?

I guess having better acceleration, cornering, braking - every possible metric - makes today's cars somehow inferior to the primitive hunks of metal from the past?

Put down the doobie and turn off the Barrett-Jackson Auction, my man.

Subatomic particles.

The new ones are not spinning as fast as the old.  Everything is affected; lights are dim, medicine doses have to be higher, trees soak up less CO2.

Lawn mowers  –– Mine is over 50 years old, still on the original engine, and it cranked on the first pull after winter storage.  The new ones look like toys, and everyone I know with one, it seems like they're in the shop half the time.

Vacuum cleaners –– My parents have a Hoover that is at least 40 years old, built like a tank, and it's still running great.

Lots of things from 50+ years ago.  Back then labor was cheap, materials were expensive.  They made sure they did shit right with lots of hand fitting and attention to detail.  Now materials are cheaper and labor more expensive.  Some products are better due to new tech, some aren't quite the same.  It is what it is.
