I just got a new Blackhawk Hydrastorm Force 5 pack. I have never used a bite vavle before. Stupid question, how does it work? It states to just pull on it to open and bite to drink. That doesn't work.

You are biting back to far on it!
You need to pull it out then where the two little lines are on it are where your tetth are supposed to squeeze the valve!
